About me

Martine de Jong is an artist, illustrator, writer, and art director from Amsterdam. In her autonomous work, she creates colorful, expressive portraits, mixed-media pieces, paintings, linoprints, and small original ACEO art cards. Her work arises intuitively and moves between figuration, graphic forms, and personal stories. In addition to her visual work, Martine is an art director for theatre and television and author of the novels "De mannen van Raan" and "De aanloopman." These different disciplines nourish each other: image, story, humor, and observation consistently reappear. On this website, you will find original, handmade works offered directly by Martine.

My career once started as a camera assistant for television, but since then I have done many things as an art director for theatre & television, and as a graphic designer for various projects – online and offline. I am also a writer: I am currently working on my third novel. In the time that's left, I enjoy drawing and painting; my works are available for purchase here.

Some of my recent projects:

• set design and styling theatre show Arjen Lubach - Strijder

• art director for Zondag met Lubach (VPRO)
• art director for De Avondshow met Arjen Lubach (VPRO)
• art director for LUBACH (RTL)
